Dear reader,
Welcome to the dump! I’ve been waiting to send out a new ‘sletter, thinking surely I’ll finish one of my projects to share. Just one! Any day! Lately, though, I’ve only continued to stack new things on my progress pile. So, I’m sharing the progress pile and some assorted comic scraps instead.
👹 Stupid and Ugly
I’m excited to introduce you to Little Stupid and Little Ugly via this grainy, blown up screenshot of one corner of my iPad. They’re two failed princes of hell who I drew during work. They’ll be getting a zine or something soon.
💄 A lil Mitski two-paneler
As a chronic red lipstick wearer who only skips it for probable kissing or very thick sandwich plans, this line is a whole mood. Be the Cowboy forever!
📖 A comic about meeting a tiny manuscript
This draft is still very much in the rough stage and will be an entire BB issue at some point soon. It’s about my meeting with a minuscule 16th century French book of hours and goes with a short descriptive paper about her for my history of the book course. My professor has no idea she’s getting a comic, but she did say illustrations and images were okay if they added to the paper, which translated clearly to “please make a comic” in my mind.
I also have actual book pictures to show y’all later, which I am very, very jazzed about. I still can’t believe I was allowed to handle this particular book with mine own grubby hands.
🎼 My new 60s harpsichord pop playlist
I’ve been on a harpsichord kick this week, which happens to coincide with a string of Wes Anderson film screenings with my cat. (Translation: I’m being even more irritating and twee than usual.) It all started when an uncle told me I reminded him of Rushmore when he saw me in my beret at swing night. I had never seen it and had to educate myself.
Anyways, behold my masterpiece (and please let me know if you have anything to add)!
i would die for Little Stupid and Little Ugly
